CSR is a hot topic right now so there’s a lot of talk. But whilst all the talking has been going on, we’ve just been getting on with it!

What have we been doing? Well firstly we don’t just look out for ourselves. When we do business we look out for our staff, our clients and the communities in which we work.

Our people give us a lot. That is why we make it our policy to offer equal treatment to employees and recruits, ensuring everyone is treated fairly and with respect. Blakemores is a member of Birmingham Professional DiverCity as well as being active members of Birmingham Forward and Future.

The environment – reduce negative impact, reuse and recycle: we encourage our employees to think about these 3 things in everything they do.

Our clients, suppliers and other partners – we talk to them so we can share, learn and encourage each other to adopt responsible business practices.

Community investment or our charitable work. This is all about pro bono, volunteering and charitable donations. We work with our nominated charities to provide a tangible impact and create a positive experience for everyone involved. Our nominated charity this year is the Mercian Regiment Benevolent Fund.  Several of our employees are ex forces and so have a special affinity to this worthwhile charity.
